It is often overlooked now, but one of the great successes of punk was not the music it produced but that it encouraged a generation of kids to pick up a guitar and join a band. There have been a few occasions when this has happened, but none more so than the punk era. Naturally, when that happens, the overwhelming majority of new bands never get anywhere. And of those who do get to make a record, most will languish in complete obscurity. Automatics (not to be confused with the present day band of the same name) were one such outfit. They made one single, as far as I can tell, and then completely disappeared. I am not even aware if any of their members surfaced elsewhere with other bands. This fast-paced track consists of punk gone silly with a very non-PC refrain which compels you to sing along. You just have to love it.
