I always imagined doing the video for this with Claire Grogan singing while the band went into accelerated decomposition in the background - the highlight being when the drummer's arm fell off and he used it to hit the snare. Pity I was never a video director then because I am pretty certain this would have been a good idea.
But this very catchy tune is not about zombie celebrities at all ? well maybe not zombies in the sense of risen from the dead and walking around eating brains ? no wait: that is exactly what it is about. This song is about that perennial evil of the music industry - the record company manufactured nobody who is past his prime because the little girls no longer adore him. At that point, he might as well be dead. Anyone who thinks this is a recent phenomenon just hasn't been around long enough.
This is also one of the rare singles where the B-Side is actually playable in its own right as a good song.
