Another quietly overlooked single from Adorable before they got their first album out. "I'll Be Your Saint" features on that album, "Against Perfection", as does, on the Japanese imported version I have, "Summerside". "Self-Imperfectionist", however, is one of those rare b-sides which never showed up on any official album and can probably only be located on bootlegs or downloads now. Once again, if you want this, you are either going to have to be incredibly lucky, pay a lot of money or else build your own version from torrents and downloads.
The three tracks offer contrasting listens to the sound of the band. The title track is a mixture of shoegaze guitars and smart melodies, with a catchy hook line. "Summerside" is lighter and, dare I say, softer, while "Self-Imperfectionist" carries with it darker overtones in a more sombre, melancholy musical structure. The contrasts show up the ability of the band to move freely within several themes without compromising their sound.
