Adorable really aimed right to the heart of the UK music scene with this EP. "Homeboy" was always a band favourite, and featured on their stunning 2003 debut album, "Against Perfection". Initially released in 2002, just as the band were beginning to create waves in the UK music scene, this EP rightly became one of the most important new musical outputs of the year and won the band well-deserved awards at the Brits for best single and beating out Snow Patrol, Keane and Franz Ferdinand for best newcomer. However, often overlooked are the two other tracks on the single, of which "Contented Eye" has to be one of the best non-album tracks Adorable have produced in their illustrious career so far. Now that the band are well established as the leading British indie outfit of their generation leading into the second decade of the millennium, it is interesting to look back at how far they have come.

Of course, a lot of this is fiction. Adorable were way ahead of their time and had they emerged a decade later than they did, this may well have been the reaction they would have garnered. Nonetheless, "Homeboy" is an excellent EP and, in my view "Contented Eye" really is the best track the band have done off-album. Trying to purchase this would be a nightmare, but you can put the EP together from torrent sites, as I have done. It is well worth it.
