I was first introduced to Zuco 103 with their amazing well done Outro Lado and when Tales of High Fever hit my desk I was thinking that it would be unlikely that Zuco 103 could actually outdo it. I was wrong and Zuco 103 has really proved to be a very talented international flavoured band. They have a Brazillian vocalist (Lilian Vieira), a Dutch drummer (Stefan Kruger), and a German keyboardist (Stefan Schmid) and play a brand of music that is an amalgam of many different cultures. Lillian’s voice is the primarily the focus as well as the amazing rhythms that Zuco 103 is capable of. This is where I was doubtful that a band could be so diverse to be able to come up with even more catchy rhythms than those on Outro Lado. They have a totally eclectic flavor that can really only be described as an “internationalone. They do have a nice marriage of their international flavor and a western R&B feel, albeit very upbeat. People who enjoy groovy R&B as well as Brazillian influenced music will get full enjoyment out of Zuco 103. Throw it on at your next party and the “Who is this? will start up shortly after.
