This second offering from Indianna's Mock Orange grows in leaps and bounds from their Lobster debut, Nines and Sixes. The band vocals have matured and show considerable improvement as have the actual songwriting. They borrow alot from emo blueprint, Sunny Day Real Estate, but instead of copying they develop their own luscious sound. The album really shines as an original set of songs and very diverse at that. When I listened to it even the first time I really managed to get right into it. The bare their souls and put loads of feeling into each track and some tracks they reserve their energy and put out a nice soft track and then the next track they pick it up a bit and rock out. Mock Orange really shows everything that emo can be and that it won't be just another passing phase.
