The newest addition to Mercury Program's impressive discography is "Chez Viking," and if you enjoy instrumental music then it's a must have for your collection. The Florida based rockers really pumped up the quality of their music from the older records while still sticking to their traditional sound-- layers upon layers of unique and mesmerizing guitar rifts with incredible baselines and top notch drum beats. Chez Viking seems a bit more up-beat and alive than A Data Learn the Language, but still just as impressive.

Mercury Program's track listings on their releases are fairly short, and when I read Chez Viking will only include seven new songs I was disappointed. However, what they lack in track count they make up for with rich melodies and all around beautiful, uplifting music. Buy this album, close your eyes and let the mood-driven music work it's magic.

Let's hope it's not another seven years before we hear more from this crafty and secretive group.
