RecommendImagine an angel... No, imagine a black gospel singing angel and you might come close to what Mrs. Rodrigues sounds like. It is no wonder why Brazilian star Caetano Veloso chose to help her out. Nos is her sophomore album and she is as haunting and beautiful as on her debut Sol Negro. Nos means "Us" and Us means anybody of African descent and this is exactly where Nos' heart is. It reaches into your soul and plucks your heartstrings. The accompaniment is stellar also with sweet percussion, soft harmonies and the perfect choral backup that supports Virginia's angelic voice.
