Nacho Mastretta is an artist with a Spanish background in music and life in general. Mastretta is his first album to be released Stateside and it really showcases his style which is something that is hard to pinpoint. He switches up from a carnival type atmosphere to something more along the lines of Bebel Gilberto. Then, without batting an eye, he manages to use a bit of a klezmer feel on the track “Luna De Miel (featuring Julieta Venegas)�. I might venture a statement saying that this is cocktail music for the future. He utilizes many different instruments and arrangements, all performed and composed by Mastretta himself. He invites a few divas to help out on some tracks, which adds even more diversity to this collection. While mostly a latin flavor, this music is accessible to everyone and will appeal to more than just a world music audience.
