This is a pretty decent unreleased independent EP. It probably won't find its way onto my iPod, but its worth at least one good listen. More of an experience really. And I do recommend experiencing it. Topping off at 6 songs, Todd Aldous starts us off smooth and slow with "Spaceships" and comes to an abrupt end with us scratching our heads at "Crazy Like Hell", a post-punk track featuring Aldous' other band, The Franklin Effect. This EP showcases great songwriting both musically and lyrically, and while lacking the substance that gets bands signed, it is something that 99% of albums are not: honest. Aldous leaves nothing on the table with Lovesick Automatic. It screams heart-break and desperation and each track brings you a little bit closer to the artist. And at the end of the day, getting to know someone is always a cool experience...if only once.
