Felix Stallings Jr. has been spinning records since the mid-80’s and has always gone to the beat of his own drum. With Kittenz and Thee Glitz, Felix da Housecat has indeed outdone himself or any other house DJ going. The first track, “Harlot (Intro)�, is one of the most powerful ones on the album with the warbley samples and the sultry vocals provided by Melistar. Kittenz is a total rave-up from beginning to end with pounding beats and very creative samples and clever use of the synthesizer. Felix brings his luminary Junior Sanchez into the studio for a track called “Control Freaq�. Kittenz has been out in Europe for quite some time and has already picked up the 2001 Muzik Magazine Album of the Year Award. Quite impressive considering that Air, Basement Jaxx, Daft Punk and Outkast were all nominated as well. The sexy feel that Felix da Housecat is able to evoke on such an upbeat album like Kittenz and Thee Glitz makes this a great album. Just listen to it once and you will see just how revolutionary this album really is.
