Let's say William S. Burroughs was black. Work with me here. Now throw in the rhythms of say Sly & Robbie and now add dub in the key of Mad Professor. This is where LK Johnson is coming from. Intelligent lyrics mixed with laid back dub. He puts music to some of the hottest black political topics you could imagine. As is written throughout the liner notes "Everything is political". First time I finished listening to this double disc I was looking for the way out of the dope smoke filled room, sad that the party had ended. Linton Kwesi is one of the baddest cats to ever lay down a thread of music. Grab this album, light up a blunt, and listen to what the man has to say.
