Trevor Lissauer is a singer/songwriter coming our way from Los Angeles. His self-released album Transit Plaza is sure to get some critical acclaim with its introspective songs and Trevor’s great vocals. He reminds me a little bit of the UK’s Travis. It’s more his voice than the songs. Maybe Elliott Smith might be a better comparison. The album represents the crossroads every one of us reaches in navigating life and relationships. It’s about people coming and going and Transit Plaza is the place where new relationships begin and old relationships end. Have you ever sat at an airport and watched the diverse emotions as people come and go. People arriving are excited to see their loved ones while people leaving are sad about leaving. His songwriting reflects this very nicely with some very decent pop craftsmanship. One great line I have to leave you with: “She had black hair and a pale face/Left here like in a race/Same scene another day/Fucked up my feng shui. I predict that we will be seeing more of Trevor Lissauer and that Transit Plaza may actually get some notice by some underground labels. It’s a well recorded and well written album and Trevor has a very unique voice.
