RecommendWith Arto's latest offering, the first "signing" of Ani Difranco's Righteous Babe label, he takes bossa nova and samba and turns it into a modern thing. Sweet, sultry, and sexy he finds a perfect blend of the Brazilian sound and the electronic leaning he has been working on with his last few albums. His vocals seem as though they have found what they were meant for, frail yet still somehow powerful lyrics. The instrumentation is stellar as well with percussion, strings, guitar mixed with the hypnotic backdrop track. Some point he even dabbles with some drum and bass. With Lindsay coming into his own, I'm sure Ms. Difranco is quite happy with her little catch here.
