Typically the music of Atlas Sound or similar "weird" pop doesn't really do it for me but this morning I was taking the train to work, I normally walk but today I was commuting from a far off community. Logos was the perfect soundtrack to the 35 minute trip in. I couldn't have asked for a better companion to help me on my journey.

 

The album starts out with "The Light That Failed", a blippy but relatively acoustic song that seemingly takes you nowhere set the pace. I even found myself tapping my foot to a few songs, "Quick Canal" with Laetitia Sadier of Sterolab fame being the key track here. Again, this particular relationship with Logos made this album for me. I can see coming back to the album time and time again. Here's hoping that Bradford Cox doesn't lose focus on his full-time project Deerhunter. I heard rumours that early versions of Logos crept onto the internet in an unfinished state and that Bradford almost didn't finish because of that. Thank goodness he did.

I can envision tracks such as "Washington School" being used in movies in such situations, where key characters undergo a big journey. Overall, Atlas Sound has created the perfect soundtrack for such an event. If you find yourself on a dreary plane, train or bus ride take Logos along for the ride.
