I'm really getting into this new release...R&B instrumental meets experimentation of the soul. In his (Drew of experience.hold.) second year contesting for Indie Of The Year, this instrumental creation of clever rhythms and distortion was the most hungry by my ears.
"Plan B" has two parts, warm melodies throughout. "Everything At Once", has so much unique branding for such a generic genre. The whole album is just barely slicked up and produced enough for my taste, anymore and its overkill maybe. "I hate Century City" has its over bearing title, but nothing about this song is overdone, or too aggressive. "I am the devil" is the one track that is in your face and tastefully done. Constant aggro-rock style with a tormenting continousness, as really most of what experience.hold. is
No doubt, Experirock is something of an acquired taste, but once acquired, an enjoyment you'll never feel for another genre of music. As aggressive as this new EP is, there's evidence of patience and progress from the first release. Of ANY artist in the world, top 40 or best of IOTY past and present, experience.hold. has the most expectation. Would love for someone to paste a tasty and contemporary voice on top of this, or perhaps just insert as a movie score. Either way, the world is missing out, and we're going to enjoy saying I told you so.
