I know I'm a huge disappointment to many Jack Johnson fans for only discovering him now but as I always say, so much music, so little time. After being recommended Brushfire Fairytales by numerous people I finally ventured out and picked up a copy and to my delight, I totally enjoyed every note of the album. If you're not sold on Mr. Johnson, I would suggest you beg, borrow, or steal the song Bubble Toes? and bounce along to it. It has one of the all time 'Da da da-da da da'? in recent history and you just can't help singing along with it. First and foremost, Jack Johnson is a world championship surfer and his friend G. Love invited him to sing on a track on Philadelphonic. And get this for cool, Mr. Popularity himself; Ben Harper adds some of his talents to Brushfire Fairytales. The album is a nice mix of mellower Ben Harper style tracks while the rest of the album is funky and has that groove going on like Bubble Toes?. This is an album that will make it into few collections and those that it does, it will remain a favorite for years to come.
