RecommendIt's obvious that the world is going to go nuts over this "new" band with their album Bleed American. Truth of the matter is Jimmy Eat World have been around for quite sometime and to top it off, this is not their first major label dealing. They have previously had a couple of albums on Capital but after that fell apart they were free and clear to do what they wanted to. And that was a dream come true for Dreamworks. Jimmy Eat World was pretty much done Bleed American when Dreamworks came along. If it is worked right, this album could easily be the summer album that the Goo Goo Dolls - A Boy Named Goo was back in 1995. I can't even predict a track to do it for them because every track is just smack on every time. Many would consider Jimmy Eat World to be an emo band but if I were to call it (and I am right here) they are killer power pop band that really knows how to write a killer lick and beautiful harmonies. The album opening and title track is probably the most rocking out of the batch and it is a killer track (and I believe it's the first single). These boys are sweet with a bit of attitude which makes for a great pop-rock album. Do yourself a favor before that long roadtrip; buy Bleed American and the drive will be completely enjoyable.

Anyone opposed with me changing the rating of Bleed American to "Classic"? I have been listening to this album again lately and it really has stood the test of time. Hard to believe that its 11 years old.
