Husker Du - Flip Your Wig
If you ever listen to college radio you can't help but notice the indebtedness of almost every band to be played on there to Husker Du. I don't think Grant Hart and Bob Mould would have any idea of the impact of their music. They would form the way bands would work towards major label deals with hard work and perserverence and no comprompising. Flip your wig was the bands most accessible album to date. Their previous outings had more of a punk/hardcore feel to it where as on this album Hart and Mould were coming into their own songwriting style. The still played their asses off though. Although Husker Du never attained star status, they remained cult favorites and still influence bands today. If you enjoy any type of college radio music you should really buy a Husker Du album and discover where the sound came from.
