Frank Jurgens is a piano blues musician that has finally got to the point where he can live the life he wants, making music for a living. According to his biography:
Sun Soaked Blues Rock Reggae. Frank pounds piano blues as hot as the Caribbean sun and island jams as cool as a sunset breeze. His unique blend of music is just the anecdote to cure you from life's everyday doldrums, with witty, "what me worry" tunes about beaches, blondes, booze and bikinis.
I don't know about you but that's not what I look for in music. If that has scared you off, then really, there is no need to carry on reading.
If you are still here let me enlighten you. Frank Jurgens sounds like that guy playing in the lobby of a 2 star Caribbean hotel: big smile on his face on his electric piano. Or possibly you might hear Frank playing a low budget wedding. There are a few songs on Last Call At The Tiki Bar that could have been developed into some catchy melodies but attention wasn't paid where it was needed. In all honesty, I think Frank needs to stick to the festivals and stay away from the recording studio. He might be a fun act to see in a live setting but this album did nothing for me.
