From the folky corridors of Jack Johnsons Brushfire Records comes the labels first lady: Zee Avi. The songstress shines on her debut Bitter Heart, a sunny melody set to heartrending words. Her lilting vocals soothe as she croons jazzy warbles with graceful ease over a bouncing double bass and brushed drum. Lyrics like, Bitter heart tries to keep it all inside ... Bitter heart is getting just a little fragile, are easier to swallow when complemented by Avis playful doo doos and dah dahs. Her happy blend of jazzy-pop is love-at-first-listen.
