 Biography

It started as The Bedside Austen. A horrible horrible excuse for an indie rock band that plagued the ears of a few for several months. Then after a show at The Door in October it ended.

By Thanksgiving, Bryce and Mack (the only two original members) grew restless. They need to make music thus beginning a 4 month long search for the right band. In the meantime the two continued to write and record in their home studio with Bryce filling in on drums and bass.

They changed their name to The Montreal and began posting songs on their myspace. Slowly people began to recognize the bands potential. In December they added hunter on drums and practiced with a revolving door of bass players.

The lineup was still missing a permanent bass player. Thank God for Oh, Sleeper. At an Oh, Sleeper show in February, Bryce and Mack seriously talked to Ross for the first time. He was playing with them the next day. Now the songs began to come rapidly. There were almost to no limitations except in one area: Vocals. Ross had recently played with Colton so the group brought him out to see how he fit. It was beautiful. Behold the birth of Yes, Virginia. After the band's first show they added Marcus as a third guitar player, which further expanded their sonic pallette.

The band is obsessed with fleeing from the generic. They are consumed with being unique and with their punishing practice schedule (5 or 6 days a weeks plus shows sometimes) they are quickly creating their own sound. All of his passion, focus, and energy is funneled into their live show, which is one of the most passionate and energetic live shows you'll see. Yes, Virginia is well on their way to becoming what they have always wanted to be: The Best Band In The World.
