Tirra Lirra are a Chicago-based outfit, formed in 2006 from the ashes of the goth pop of the 90's. They create quite a dramatic soundscape - the main aims being to develop, to grow and to morph until they find something fully defined and entirely comprehensive.

The lineup currently consists of guitarist Chris Mathis, drummer Jared Sheldon and vocalist Brian Hank Henry, without the early inclusion of Tony Janas, the modular-synth guy. Their early work wasn't great - while intended to be very arty and interesting, it sounded mainly like lazy songwriting and took forever to get from the start to the end. Now however, they've morphed themselves into a more focused, and much more artistic musical set.

The sound is jagged and glassy, a little tribal but with synthy guitar overlays and chanted melodies. It's hard to define, and even harder to explain.
