 Biography
"Kelsey has what Pop Music lacks. Her sweet tenderness wrapped around gutsy grit, with a bold, unobtrusive expression of faith makes her and her songwriting more than just original. " - Kenneth Eby, Lighthouse Coffee Co.

Kelsey Rottiers has been touring her self- titled full length album, Kelsey Rottiers & the Rising Tide (think Ingrid Michaelson meets Brandi Carlile), released in March of 2011, for the past year and a half all over Michigan and on a recent tour Chicago, Ohio, and Nashville. Written on the themes of heartbreak, forgiveness, and really tall ex-boyfriends, the album struck chords with audiences across Michigan and beyond.  "Red Wonder Boots," one of Kelsey's most popular tracks off this album, placed among the top 500 songs in the world in a 2010 Billboard Songwriting Contest. And in August 2012, "How to Love" was placed in a popular reality TV show called "The Real L Word" on Showtime.

Her newest work, however, a 6 song EP named after the first track, "Bear Hope" tackles a much greater form of heartbreak. After learning about the global crisis of sex trafficking through companies like The Red Thread Movement and Women At Risk International, Kelsey decided it was time to join the fight. With her music as the battle cry, her goal is to turn attention to the truth of what is really going on right here in our neighborhoods, down the street, and even in our own backyards. After raising $2100 in 21 days through Kickstarter.com to help with recording and duplication costs, Kelsey's decided that 50% of the proceeds for Bear Hope will be donated to Women At Risk International. Bear Hope is set to be released on October 14th at the start of Kelsey's CD release tour with full band! [Dates for Grand Rapids gigs inserted here]
