The scorching heat of Texas is the perfect crucible in which to create metal not often heard on American shores. Out of this aural forge comes Ignitor, the culmination of over 20 years of experience in metal/extreme music. The band was formed when guitarists Stuart Laurence and Beverly Barrington, bass player Brendon Bigelow, drummer Pat Doyle, and vocalist Erika joined forces in the summer of 2003.

Influenced by 80s masters Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica, Ignitors music is a blend of classic true metal with the power of today's greats like Primal Fear, Grave Digger and Brainstorm. Their MiniCD "Take to the Sky" was highlighted as Demo of the Month by Germany's Rock Hard magazine. PowerMetal.de voted Ignitor as one of the Top Newcomers of 2004. Other honors include a prime showcase slot at 2005's SXSW fest, Erika grabbing the slot of Number 1 Frontman in Austin, and many enthusiastic reviews.

2006 saw a lineup change, with Beverly leaving and Annah Moore joining the fold. Annah's athletic, whammy-bar soaked playing style promises even greater sonic joy for those who are already fans of Ignitor's guitar work.

Ignitor has shared stage space with great bands like W.A.S.P, Distant Thunder, M.O.D., Beyond Fear and Jag Panzer. They stunned the sun-baked crowd at the Monterrey Metal Fest, and blew the roof off the Tauberfrankenhall at the 2005 Keep It True fest. Ignitor is preparing to record their first full length album which will blow Take to the Sky away. Metal is the Law!
