Deborah's vocal journey has also taken her to unexpected places. Following an early passion for folk music, she trained her voice in classical technique, developing a long legato line as a soprano. For many years she sang concerts interpreting classical art songs, but she never lost her love of the folk song. While recording her second CD, Simply Christmas, she discovered an entirely undisturbed, hauntingly innocent sound in her lower range. This sound has allowed her to return to traditional and Celtic songs using a combination of long vocal line and the emotional intensity available to a "simpler" vocal technique.

Deborah is presently exploring folk, Celtic, ambient, New Age, and newly composed songs by combining her long vocal line with fresh soundscapes. Deborah is motivated by a passion for the beauty of these songs and for touching her audience.
