Christopher Michael Jensen is an artist who is not afraid to push the confines of art and creativity. With a knack for making unique music, Jensen is a true emcee in the booming Twin Cites hip hop scene, mixing poetic introspection and commentary with lyrical dexterity and braggadocious rhymes.

Born in 1986, Chris was raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota, coming up with a disposition for being different. He was inspired by the multitude of things growing up that bombarded his brain. Through the science fiction, video games, comic books, and other interests of his youth, Chris existed in his own world, letting his imagination run wild.

As a little kid, Chris listened to rock and alternative radio and whatever compilations and soundtracks he had in his collection. By 4th Grade, he began listening to electronic music. It was at 13 years of age, however, that Chris delved heavily into hip hop.

"This was the year 2000, and it was the same time Napster and MP3's were exploding on the scene, so I was introduced to various songs from different people that my older brother was getting," Chris says. "I soon began acquiring numerous albums from a lot of hip hop artists, and I would go and seek out more and more from the past as I was learning about this culture. My brother and I were the only people that had the kind of depth and range of tastes that I knew, spanning back from the old school to the present, from the most mainstream and popular to the most underground and obscure. A lot of money was spent buying, and a lot of time was spent downloading. As this was all happening, I started trying my hand at writing raps myself."

Chris spent many years honing his skills as a rapper, creating his own homemade albums, and performing at school functions and talent shows. By the age of 21, he was seriously involved in the craft of hip hop.

In 2009, Christopher Michael Jensen released his mixtape, Lyrical Combustion, to the Internet as a free download. In 2010, Chris pressed up and released the first real album of his musical career, entitled There's Meaning Underground.

Featuring fifteen tracks of diverse production, There's Meaning Underground is an honest exploration of Chris's past, present, and future. From depression to politics, human nature to the state of hip hop, the album is an existential look at the different facets of our 21st Century world in these post-modern times, seen through the eyes of one of the brightest and most exciting young artists in independent hip hop today.
