One gray morning on the banks of the Buffalo River Summer of 1980....
Abram Morphew set out for the wilderness of the Birkhead Mountains. Morphew survived months in a dense forest battling heavy rain and unruly winds, in search of seclusion, and a place to let his thoughts wonder in peace. This peace was soon interrupted when forest fires forced him to dig deep into the ground to find safety from the exploding pine trees. He was delighted to discover tunnels, previously only known to the elders of Birkhead, leading to a magical city where he would happen upon a fellow survivor of the elements...
Bethany Carder, awaking from a hypnotic state induced by a small band of mystics, experienced violent spasms, fits of percussive motion, and waves of electricity bursting from her limbs. The mystics urged her to leave and not return until she knew the meaning of this experience. She began her journey into the unyielding heat of the desert, close to starvation, isolated from family, battered and broken by a constant feeling of loneliness. She discovered Abram Morphew wondering the ancient underground tunnels beneath the mystical city, in search of a place that cured the loneliness of existing in one's mind: a beacon found on the Isla Larga. Carder was fascinated by the idea of healing through experimentation with light, sound, energy, and the power of intent. Emotional turmoil, once so powerful, released through instruments and moving images. They continued forward in hopes of Relief from the unrelenting desire to understand ones mere existence. Energetic pullies attached to cages covered in flesh, time travelers in moments of here connection, near connections, missing the point only to find it resides within and without you.
